Well, vacation is over and it’s back to reality. Unfortunately my reality these days seems to be dealing with people like PinkiSwear by Lolita who have ripped off my entire website. Unbelievable.. I think I need another week of vacation. Sigh…

If you’re going to copy verbiage from another company’s website, be sure you remove all references to said company before you publish it on your own site.

This brought me lots of LOLs last night. Normally I wouldn’t call someone out on something minor like this, but the fact is that I’ve had problems with this company in the past. Some people never learn. It’s one thing to be inspired by someone else’s work; it’s another thing to copy it. Copying is not cool!

Update (7/15/09):  Apparently I’m not the only one having trouble with Fritzer Designs. Check out Lisa’s blog, A House Full of Moxie, to read about her experience with this so-called web designer. She makes a very good point – if a designer (and I use that term loosely) will copy another person’s work and use it for her own website, how can you be sure the site she designs for you doesn’t contain elements (graphics, HTML, CSS, etc.) taken from someone else. She could be putting your business and your reputation at risk. Please do your homework before choosing a web designer – make sure he or she is reputable, experienced and trustworthy.

A sweet customer of mine e-mailed me today to show me a site she came across that looked exactly like mine. Boy was she right!

Charlotte Godart of Chickadee and Girly Girl stole everything – my graphics, my html, and my css! People never cease to amaze me. I know I say that every time I come across someone who has plagiarized my work, but I’m still trying to comprehend how you could copy an entire website and think that was okay. I had even watermarked my background, but Charlotte conveniently removed that. Apparently that copyright applied to everyone but her. I will be sending Miss Godart a cease and desist letter as well as notifying her web host, but I wanted to make sure she got her 5 minutes of shame first!
