A sweet customer of mine e-mailed me today to show me a site she came across that looked exactly like mine. Boy was she right!
Charlotte Godart of Chickadee and Girly Girl stole everything – my graphics, my html, and my css! People never cease to amaze me. I know I say that every time I come across someone who has plagiarized my work, but I’m still trying to comprehend how you could copy an entire website and think that was okay. I had even watermarked my background, but Charlotte conveniently removed that. Apparently that copyright applied to everyone but her. I will be sending Miss Godart a cease and desist letter as well as notifying her web host, but I wanted to make sure she got her 5 minutes of shame first!

She should be ashamed of herself! Now that she took it down she’s probably searching for someone else’s hard work to copy.

I am shocked and amazed – people steal everything (even copyright items that are registered with the US copyright office). We all have to spend so much time and energy (and attorneys fees) trying to protect ourselves – just to have someone steal it and not care and think it is ok. Who’s website will she steal next time? She will be watched by everyone now, as we all know and will be watching her closely.

Ugh! I had a lady do that to me.. she knocked off my entire web design.. the only thing that was changed was the name of the business..
The web designer was ****** (name removed).. I was shocked. They did take it down afterwards but it is still annoying..

I also had someone steal the buttons that are on my front web page.
I was just furious. How do people think that stealing is ok?

Just when you think you have seen it all. sheesh. totally speechless. I don’t understand how people think it’s ok to rip someone’s site like that. grrrrrrr.

Wow Amy! That is truly unbelievable! I have someone that has copied my birdies (my identity basically) (cuddlebugsart) and she’s on my blog too. Yep, these people cease to amaze me too!
